White water river rafting in the Shuswap is great fun for groups or the entire family!

This white water rafting trip on the Adams River is rated moderate, with a 10 km section of class I, II and III rapids. This white water rating makes it ideal for families with children! Enjoy over an hour on the river, winding through the stunning Tsútswecw Provincial Park.  Jump into the warm waters for a swim when we take an interpretive stop along the way. Allow two and a half hours for your round trip, including shuttling to and from the unloading and loading sites. Rafting trips take place 7 days a week with a minimum of 4 people. If your group is less than 4 we can put you with another group to meet the minimum number.  Our trips leave at 11 am and 2 pm in May, June and September. During July and August trips leave daily at 10 am, 1 pm and 4 pm.

Who Can Go Whitewater River Rafting?

Almost everyone can go white water rafting. Paddling is a lot of fun and it’s not hard!  You also don’t have to know how to swim, but it is recommended for our June high water trips. Youth must also be at least 12 years old for the high flow spring trips. The rest of the season children should be a minimum of 6 years old and feel comfortable in the water.  We have thermal gear for youth, however feel free to bring your own wetsuit or fleece.  For their safety we have the little ones kneel in the raft and hold on rather than sitting up on the side of the tube.  Many kids (and adults) love to kneel at the front and get thoroughly drenched!

What You Need to Know

The vendor will let you know where to meet, and you are encouraged to arrive 20 minutes early.  Prior to the start of the trip, waivers are completed, you can change clothes and meet your guides and crew.  You’ll also be taken through a safety briefing and get to practice some paddling techniques before entering the water.

What We Supply

All required equipment and rafting gear including helmets and life jackets in varying sizes and a shuttle to and from the river.  For cold days we also provide farmer john wetsuits and/or fleece sweaters and nylon splash jackets.  Our guides are all certified, trained and very experienced.

What You Bring

Please bring a swimsuit or t-shirt and shorts, a change of clothes for after and sunscreen.  If you really want to wear sunglasses, please make sure they’re secured. Secure footware is also needed.  Runners, sports sandals or water shoes are all good, but don’t wear flip flops.  You’re also welcome to bring your own fleece or wetsuit, if you can paddle with it, but they’re not required on summer days.  Please don’t bring a camera unless it’s waterproof, and leave any valuables or jewellery at home.  You will have an opportunity to purchase photos of yourself on the rapids following your trip.

House Boaters

We offer free pick up and drop off from the Shuswap Lake Provincial Park and the Anglemont Marina .  You must have at least 8 people in your group for pickup from the Anglemont Marina or there will be a $25.00 fuel charge.

Plan to overnight at Horseshoe Bay the night before your trip and in the morning you can drive your houseboat to your pick up location.  Anglemont Marina is approximately 25 minutes away and Shuswap Lake Prov Park is 2.5 to 3 hours.  You can park your Houseboat on shore for the few hours your group will be rafting, but must return to a regular campsite for the evening.
